Photo editing on a philosophy
the battle for most expensive professional editing package was between Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop; both are pretty same in terms of functions and features but work in different ways.
Photoshop offers file support for Adobe’s programs like Premiere, Illustrator thus proves to be ideal for video artists, graphic designers and photographers. Photoshop’s another good feature is that it comes packed with Adobe’s Image Ready which is an awesome kit for producing web graphics and animations.
On the other hand Macromedia Fireworks lets you animate photos with lots of functions but it lacks the ability to export files to Adobe Video Software. Though both (Photo shop and Firework) share the same goals that’s why majority of their features are similar e.g. the modification of bitmap graphics. Fireworks were designed for optimizing, modifying and creating the web graphics but it supports only a few vector graphics.
Some people used to have Photoshop for image editing and for advanced correction and manipulation of images and Fireworks for layout mockup of complex websites. A few years ago Adobe introduced Macromedia so Adobe Fireworks which is now called “Adobe Creative Suite” means that if you want to check out both Macromedia Firework and Adobe Photoshop then there is no need to make a choice among two simply purchase Adobe Creative Suite.
If you are a beginner with the photo editing then you does not need to buy expensive packages with sharp editing tools. They will most likely do much more than you possibly need, it’s for those who are professionals and want full Photoshop. It would be better if you try 30 days trial first of editors that appeal you, make a comparison and see whether they cater your editing needs in a user friendly way or not.
